Stanley Wilson Obituary

Stanley J. Wilson Jr.
Stanley J. Wilson Jr., "STASH," age 73, of Fairfield, CT, passed away, December 16, 2023. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Stanley J. and Margaret Mary Ballingham Wilson. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, Class of '69, and attended Sacred Heart University, where he excelled in literature and film studies. He was employed by Trafalgar, a leather goods manufacturer, in Norwalk, as a manager of the shipping department for over 20 years. He also worked at Quest Diagnostics as a currier until retirement. Stan would ride his bike to work and also rode his bike from Fairfield to Boston and back.
Stan was a lifetime member of the Gaelic American Club and enjoyed attending the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City and Bridgeport. Stan fought a lengthy, arduous and valiant battle with cancer. Stan was intellectually gifted and had an incredible memory; a Jeopardy whiz and a regular at Trivia nights, often taking home the top prize. He was always up on current events, music, concerts, theater, sports, and movies. Stan was also an avid Chess player. He kept the same tight group of loyal friends his whole life.
They were a constant until the end, providing unending kindness and support and are: Pat Kearney, Steve Dunn, Tom Krause, Didi Saad, Ritchie Dobbs, and Rosemary McCallum. Also, Max Mahar, Danny Melita, Brian O'Neill and Frank Veno. Many thanks to his two caregivers: Johanna and Maria, who with tenderness and kindness provided care.
He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Mary Wilson and Lynn Ellen Wilson Krause and her husband John, his brother, David Wilson and his wife Lisa Hirsch; four nieces and nephews, including: Mary Kathleen Rivera, John R. Krause, III, Colin Wilson, Grace Wilson; four grandnieces and nephews, Tiana Krause, Kalani Rivera, Derrick Rivera and Angel Rivera, and one great-great-nephew, Judah Jordan.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains, Trumbull, CT. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, at 10 a.m., on December 29, 2023. For more information or to leave an online condolence, visit www.mullinsfh.com .

Truly one of our most brilliant "Stash"es. Notre Dame H. S. remains a gift-memory school of unfurling genius students throughout the 60-ties and 70-ties, particularly, when the competitive enrollment was huge. Wilson can take pride in being one of the special pyramids of wonder who inspires its sweet-breathing air even today, in its hallways, classrooms, study halls, and labs. May his inspiring journey throughout his life, his joys, and his will to learn reach the youth found at ND today. A true lantern of light! He remains invisible in that home of knowledge, still.

I had the pleasure of working with Stanley at Trafalgar many years ago. He was a sweet and gentle soul. Condolences to Steve Dunn and all of Stanley's family and friends. I always remember him fondly.
