Stephen Fitzpatrick Obituary

Stephen R. Fitzpatrick
Stephen R. Fitzpatrick, age 65, of Trumbull passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital Monday, August 19th. Born in Bridgeport the son of Robert H. and the late Evelyn (Homa) Fitzpatrick, he grew up in Trumbull. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School and St. Michael's College. Stephen was hired as a social worker in Fairfield by the late John J. Sullivan, and taught at the University School in Bridgeport. Stephen worked for Peoples United Bank for many years in the fraud protection division. He was a member of the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield where he loved meeting his friends and family. Stephen loved to sing and was a member of the choir at St. Ann's Church and the GAC Glee Club. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his father Robert, his stepmother Jane Fitzpatrick, his sisters Lisa Fitzpatrick of Anchorage, AK, and Maura Kane and her husband Kevin of Wilbraham, MA; three nephews, Sam Evans, Mac Evans and Brendan Kane; a step-brother, William Copeland and his wife Sara Nava Plata of Greenville, SC and his many cousins. A very special thank you to Judith Frank, Stephen's care-giver for nearly 20 years and soon became like family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private in St. Michael's Cemetery. Family and friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Stephen's memory to Our Lady of Mississippi Abbey, 8400 Abbey Hill, Dubuque, IA 52003 or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 N.
