Susan Elizabeth Wade Warner passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters.
Born on October 17, 1951, to the late Douglas Sr. and Jewel Wade, Susan grew up in Fairfield and later Trumbull, Connecticut, alongside her two younger brothers. A 1969 graduate of Trumbull High School, she went on to attend the University of Connecticut, where her enduring love for college basketball first took root.
Susan spent time living in different places before returning to her hometown area to work at her family's business, Wade's Dairy now located in Bridgeport, where she eventually became an owner. It was during this chapter of her life that she met her husband, George Warner. The two married in 1987 and began their life together in Derby, Connecticut, welcoming their first daughter, Tori, that same year. In 1991, they settled in Trumbull, where they were blessed with their second daughter, Lindsay.
Creative and kind-hearted, Susan had a natural artistic talent and loved to decorate thoughtful gifts for family and friends-always aiming to bring joy to others. Though she lived with the challenges of Fabry Disease, Susan never let it diminish her spirit or generosity. She was deeply committed to helping others, whether through her involvement in the family business, her volunteer work, or simply being a dependable friend and neighbor.
Her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great fulfillment in sharing the hope and comfort she found in the scriptures with anyone willing to listen.
Susan's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and unwavering love for her family, her community, and her faith.
Susan is survived by her loving husband and their daughters. She is also survived by many friends and family, including her brother Bernard "Bernie" Wade and his wife Laura, formerly of Shelton, Connecticut, along with their children.
