Tom earned a bachelor's degree from UCONN and an MBA from University of New Haven. He had a successful career in marketing and retired from Enthone, Inc. In retirement, he was a bus driver for Fairfield Prep and truly enjoyed bantering with the boys.

He attended many summer concerts at Tanglewood and was a longtime subscriber to seasons at the Long Wharf and Yale Repertory Theatres. He was a great fan of Ohio State Buckeye football and the UCONN women's basketball team and a longtime member of the Gaelic American Club. Involved with his sons' day to day activities, he had fond memories of participating in the Indian Guides program with each of them.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his son, Thomas F. Lillis, IV and his wife Judy of Columbus, OH and Matthew E. Lillis and his wife Yvonne of Austin, TX. He will also be missed by his siblings, Mary Ellen Koalchic and her husband Richard of Seymour, Brian Lillis and his wife Judy of Brookfield, CO and Margaret Sugar of Montgomery Village, MD; as well as grandsons, Thomas F. Lillis, V of Columbus and Logan Lillis of Austin, and sister-in-law, Ellen Lillis of San Ramon, CA.
