Yvonne Sokol Obituary
Yvonne N. Sokol "Eve" past suddenly on Sunday March 30, 2014. She was 27 years old.
Born in Norwalk on September 7, 1986 she was the daughter of Jamie Kircher and Daniel Sokol. She was educated in the Norwalk School System, and later went on to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and spent a year abroad in Florence Italy studying international fashion merchandizing. She was an avid dancer, loved horseback riding, and continued to do both into her adult life.
She had a special zeal for life and was passionate about everything she did. When New Orleans was devastated by flooding, she went down with a school group to help rebuild houses while she studied at Norwalk Community College. She was the champion of the underdog, and was a spark of enthusiasm for every family party. She was especially favored by her niece and Goddaughter Micaela, and her nephew Logan Meaney.
Yvonne worked at the Arts and Entertainment network in Stamford as an editor, and she enjoyed her work and colleagues. She lived in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport with the love of her life John Ribas.
Yvonne will be deeply missed by her loving family. Her mother Jamie Kircher of Norwalk; her father Daniel and his wife Mary-Ellen Sokol of Monroe; her sister and best friend, Danielle Meaney and her husband Justin, her two younger brothers, David and Jack Kircher, all of Norwalk; a step-brother Michael Putnam and his wife Lisa of Monroe; and her step-sister Kathryn Medeiros of Bethel. She is also survived by her maternal grandfather James Mount of Lady Lake Florida; and her paternal grandmother Teresa Sokol of Stamford. There are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Her love for life and adventure was shared by all she met, and she will be sorely missed. Friends may greet the family on Thursday April 3, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 4, 2014 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave. Norwalk. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Yale Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
