Watson Foshe' Obituary

Graveside services for Watson Jahue "Johnny" Foshe', 88, of Margaret Street, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, in the old section of Carlsbad Cemetery. Chaplain Mike Stahl of Landsun Home Care and Hospice will officiate. Masonic Rites will be by Eddy Lodge #21 AF&AM. A Lodge of Sorrow will convene at 8:30 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today (June 3) at West Funeral Home.
Services are entrusted to West Funeral Home.
Watson Jahue "Johnny" Foshe' was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Vardaman, Miss., to Henery and Daisey "Flowers" Foshe'. He was raised and educated there. Johnny served in WW II with the Merchant Marines and was honorably discharged at Spokane, Wash., in January 1946. After two years of business College in Spokane, Wash., Johnny gained employment with the city, and became their primary Stationery Engineer. After 13 years, he took an early retirement and moved his family to Arkansas. He was a kind and loving husband and was eager to extend that love to family and friends. The outdoors was Johnny's passion and he enjoyed sharing it with others. Whether gardening, fishing, hunting or trapping, he was in his element. Johnny met Elizabeth "Betty" Hunt and they married on Aug. 5, 1978, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Johnny joined the William J. Parks Masonic Lodge #376 while at Gravelly, Ark., in 1982 and soon after was advanced to 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite at Fort Smith, Ark. He was the Worshipful Master of his Masonic Lodge in 1987. Johnny and Betty were also very active and longtime members and Leaders of the Order of the Eastern Star. Johnny, as Worthy Patron and Betty, as Worthy Matron. Johnny was a member of Mt. Moriah Community Church, Hale Town, Ark.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law W. C. Hunt.
His survivors include his wife Betty of the family home; a brother Eugene Foshe' of Mississippi; stepsons Dennis and Robert Holman and his wife Sherry of Carlsbad; and several grand and great-grandchildren.
Johnny passed away on Monday June 1, 2009, at home with his family by his side. Johnny is gone, but not forgotten.

Mr. Foshe',
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
