Flora "Berniece" Tibbetts

1938 - 2015

Flora 'Berniece' Miller-Tibbetts age 77, of Longmont went home to be with Jesus and her Mom and Dad Oct. 21, 2015, from Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton Colo.
Berniece was born July 21, 1938, in Ansley, to Leonard Cornelius Miller and Georgena Dean (Munn) Miller. She was the first of five children. She was raised on a farm helping her dad in the fields, with the cattle, and the horses. She LOVED to ride her horses, Queen, Scout and Flame, her favorites, She bought her first Ford in 1954.
After attending school at Ash Grove, she went on to graduate from Ansley High School in 1956. Berniece went to Kearney State Teaching College earning her Teaching Certificate in 1958. She taught at several School between Ansley, Loop City, Donophin and Hastings.
June 5, 1960, she married Arthur Tibbetts in Ansley. They later divorced. They lived in Grand Island and Hastings before moving to Longmont, Colo. in 1978.
Berniece worked as an assembler for J'leen, Leanin' Tree, Valley Lab (17 years), and Colorado MedTech until 2002.
After retirement she did a lot of traveling including Hawaii, Florida and California.
She enjoyed skiing, watching the Broncos play football, and loved those Garage sales! She absolutely loved her grandchildren very much, the time she spent with them will always be cherished.
Surviving Berniece is her son, Jeff Tibbetts and his wife Lisa of Denver, Colo.; and her daughter, Karen Humphrey-Wurl and her husband Cole of Longmont, Colo. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Brandon Humphrey (Kimberly Andersen) of Thornton, Colo., Brittany Humphrey of Longmont,Colo., and Tyler Thrush of Longmont, Colo.; her sisters, Barbara Magnuson (Max) of Mesa, Ariz., and Sharon Ummel (Dennis) of Lincoln; her brothers, Duane Miller (Marilyn) of Ansley, and George Miller (Charlene) of Hastings; and Aunt Bonnie Wilson of Litchfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and several aunts  and uncles.
Memorial services will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ansley Cemetery with Pastor Jim Koontz officiating. A lunch will be served following the services at the Ansley Community Center.
