Herbert E. "Geno" Tibbetts Jr.

Herbert E. "Geno" Tibbetts, Jr. of Medford passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was 66 years old. Born in Winchester, he is the cherished son of the late Dorothy L. (Avinelli) and Herbert E. Tibbetts Sr.

Prior to his retirement, Herbert worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk at the Lynn branch. "Geno," as he was affectionately called, enjoyed bowling, playing golf and watching and cheering for all the local sports teams, both professional and collegiate. For many years, he was a Medford Little League coach, which he enjoyed immensely. Most important to Geno were his family and the memorable time he spent with them, especially with his adored grandchildren.

Herbert was the devoted father of Deanna Belanger and her husband Joseph of Saugus, Sean Tibbetts and his wife Serena of Windham, ME, and Kevin Tibbetts and his wife Melinda of Cape Neddick, ME. He was the cherished grandfather of 6 beautiful grandchildren. Herbert was the dear brother of Virginia Tibbetts of Medford, Sandy Tibbetts of Winchester and the late Richard Tibbetts of Tewksbury.

Visiting hours for Herbert will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA, on Thursday, March 5, from 4–7:45 PM. The family will share words of remembrance for Herbert beginning at 7:45 PM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be private.
