Chuck, you were an outstanding chief and a great friend. I was proud to have served with you as your advisor on the police explorer post with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, as a fellow officer on the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and as a Waterman officer under your command as the Waterman Chief of Police. You were dedicated not only to law enforcement, but also the citizens you served. A memory I will always cherish was when we went to competition in Michigan at a police explorer national conference. Your team was going in to serve a search warrant and your fellow explorers told me you had a surprise for me. You had taken off your explorer uniform and put on a three piece suit since you were the detective in charger of the search. You continued to impress me with your enthusiasm and professionalism. You will remain in our hearts and thoughts. RIP Chief!
