Died: March 15, 2024 in DeKalb, IL
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cornel A. (Fruit) Recknor who peacefully transitioned on Friday, March 15th, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.
Cornel spent his entire life in the Rollo area. Born into farming, he farmed himself, worked for Farm Supply and served as the Paw Paw Township tax assessor. His true passion lay in nurturing his community. Cornel was actively involved in Rollo Park since 1976 by managing softball leagues and
tournaments, caring for the grounds and serving on the Rollo Park Board.
Cornel is survived by his wife Susan, children Cory (Connie), Charles (Prim), and Teresa (Nick), and his brothers Paul (Janet), Steve (Linda), David (Mary), and Gerald (Chris). He is also survived by grandchildren Jessica, Marissa, Tristan, Trey, Alex and great grandchildren, Lexi, Eli, Roman and Antonio Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Rollo Park are appreciated. Make checks payable to Rollo Park and mail to 1716 Whitman Road, Earlville, IL 60518.

We are saddened with the passing of Cornel. It was a pleasure to work with Cornel in his role as Assessor. He was a steward of Township government and took great pride in his work as an Assessor and in his care of the park grounds in Rollo.
He will be well and truly missed.
