Mr. Philip Albert Recknor

On September 24, 2025, Philip Albert Recknor quietly passed from this life to the next and is now resting with his beloved wife Anne Claibourne Beattie Recknor (2013). He was and is the dear father of Paula Recknor Sykes and Frances Recknor (Omar Wassef). Other cherished family includes his sister Audrey Mae Bromley and nieces Bernadette Aaron, Kathleen Bromley Rothman, Amy Bromley, and Anne Marie Hillman (Bob). He was also well loved by his four grandchildren: Anna E. Lacy (Nathan), Jennifer G. Kairys (Matt), Pippa J. Barczak (Joe), and Zachary A. Wassef. Mr. Recknor will also be greatly missed by his eight great grandchildren: Bethany, Aiden, Zoe, Audrey, Gideon, Henry, Mila, and Benjamin. As family we also include Donna Michael Emeott (Matthew), daughter of my dad's best friend and partner in crime Donald Michael, who preceded him in July of 2025. Captain Recknor was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in June of 1967 and remained a proud veteran throughout his life. He loved this country, and we were often treated to his stories stretching back throughout his service. Mr. Recknor cherished many things during his life, especially being with family, day trips with his wife, anything to do with dogs or horses, history, reading, spending beautiful time in Garrett County and joining his friends for breakfast. We will all terribly miss him and comfort ourselves by knowing that he is at peace and with "Granmom". Friends may call at Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home Inc. 6500 York Rd. Baltimore, MD 21212 on Friday, October 3rd from 5-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Immaculate Conception Church 200 Ware Ave. Towson, MD 21204 on Saturday, October 4th at 10:30 AM.
