Janis Yonke

Janis Yonke, age 79, of Watseka, formerly of Bourbonnais, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born March 13, 1946 in Kankakee, the daughter of Harold & Elizabeth (Bull) Clark. Janis married Arthur G. "Jerry" Yonke on October 26, 2007 in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2024. Janis was a retired employee of Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She enjoyed reading and was an avid lottery player. Surviving are two sons, Greg (Becky) Irby of St. Anne and John (Janet) Irby of Francisville, IN; two daughters, Karen (Freddy) Santos of Watseka and Penny (Beto) Martinez of Houston, TX; two stepsons, Arthur G. (Kathy) Yonke of Bourbonnais and Jody Yonke of Castlerock, CO; two stepdaughters, Bonnie (Sixto) Delgado of Manchester, CT and Julie (Brody) Stewart of Jensen Beach, FL; two sisters, Barbara Clark of Bradley and Marcia Kammann of Dallas, OR; one brother, Delbert (Becky) Clark of Bradley; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Janis is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David Clark; and one sister, Patti McElroy. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Deacon Patrick Skelly will officiate the service. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Inurnment will be held at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
