Yolanda Formentini

1925 - 2017

Yolanda Formentini nee Iaconi age 92, longtime resident of Chicago Heights and parishioner of St. Agnes Church, passed away peacefully at her home in LaGrange on Saturday, September 30th. She worked at Cipriani's for over 30 years as a waitress. Yolanda was born in Chicago Heights to the late Maria and Jack Iaconi. She was a loving wife for 64 years to Louis "Gigi" Formentini. Beloved mother of Paul (Bonnie), Lou and Jeff Formentini, and Mary (John) Harrell. Adored grandmother of Lauren, Emily, Andrew and Bryana Formentini, Vittoria and Ellyson Harrell. Sister of the late Joseph, Arnold and Pasqual Iaconi. She was dedicated to her church, family, work, home and friends. Anyone who knew Yolie, recognized her devotion to her family was first and foremost in her life. She enjoyed socializing with large groups of lifelong friends and was known for her quick wit and her lively sense of humor. Yet, she will be most remembered for her skill in the kitchen. Her cooking and baking were unmatched. The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to Yolanda's caregivers, Amy, Sheila and Dima, for all the love and support they provided these past several years and to the many others who were there to lend support when needed. A visitation will be held at St. Agnes Church, 1501 Chicago Rd., Chicago Heights on Friday October 6th from 10:00 AM until time of funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Entombment Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Yolanda's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated by her family.
