Janie Merrill

1935 - 2014

Janie Merrill, 78, of Kirtland, passed from this life Sunday, March 23, 2014, with her husband Charley at her side, while celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. She was born July 29, 1935, in Grants, the daughter of Levi and Martha DeArmond.
Charley's wife, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt will be remembered as a selfless, giving person. She always did without to make sure those she loved had what they needed and wanted. Her favorite pastime was just to be surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be forever missed and forever loved by those that she left behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Albert; sisters, Mary Jo, Eileen and Pat; and son Bruce.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charley Merrill; her sister, Lorraine Lyndsay of California; her sons, Charlie (Tina) Merrill, Tommy (Colette) Merrill and Samuel L. Merrill; her daughter Toni (Brad) Ping; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 28, and from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 473 CR 6100, in Kirtland.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 473 CR 6100, in Kirtland.
Interment will follow at the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery.
