Karen Moore Obituary

Karen Sue Moore was born on Oct. 19, 1952, in El Paso, Texas, to William Holt and Madge Harrison Holt. She lived there with her older brother and sisters until 1966, when her mother passed away. In 1967, she and her father moved to Black River Village, N.M. There, she met Robin Moore, and they were married on Oct. 10, 1970, in Carlsbad. In December 1970, they moved to Farmington, where they have been residents, and she was an active community member for 40 years. Karen loved her three children, Kristen Moore Flores of Phoenix, Lance C. Moore of Farmington and Angel R. Moore of Farmington; and her two grandchildren, Marissa Flores and Alex Flores of Phoenix.
Karen loved to yard sale with her friends and couldn't pass up a good bargain or sale no matter what day of the week it was, rain or shine. In her spare time, she read and did crafts. She was an active member of Christian Women's Fellowship through the Disciples of Christ Church. She was a common sight at many of the nursing homes around town as she loved to visit her ""little old lady friends."" She led Girl Scout troops for both of her daughters and volunteered at schools whenever she needed. She worked for both Hazel's Flowers, and Broadway Gifts and Flowers during the busy season, delivering flowers to the community. This was one of her favorite jobs. She also worked as a merchandiser for Teeter Floral and American Greetings in many of the stores around town. She was well loved and never knew a stranger. She will be missed greatly by all those that she touched on a daily basis. She spent her last couple of years as a resident of the Life Care Center in Farmington where she was surrounded by wonderful caregivers who became her second family. She passed away in the comforting arms of her entire family. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, William and Madge Holt; brothers, Willis Holt and Wendell Holt; and sister, Betty Holt Liddard. She is survived by her husband, Robin E. Moore; son, Lance C. Moore; daughters, Kristen Moore Flores and Angel R. Moore; mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Beth) Moore; sisters, Wanda Holt Smith, Carol Holt Kimball and Donna Holt Lyon; and grandchildren, Marissa Flores and Alex Flores.
A memorial service for Karen will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington with pastor Steve Carrington officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Lyon, Glen Lyon, Michael Kimball, Scott Moore, Greg Turner and Chris Bethel.
Karen's care is entrusted to the Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington, 505-327-5142. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at serenityandcompany.com.

I was so sorry to read that Karen had passed. I worked with her when we both merchandised for American Greetings. She was a sweet lady and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Please know that my prayers are with the family.
