Martha 'Marti' Ann (Sturdivant) Wilden
Dec. 7, 1944 - May 31, 2009
Martha "Marti" Ann (Sturdivant) Wilden, 64, of Farmington, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 31, 2009, in Fairfield, Calif. Marti was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Gallup, the daughter of Otis Sturdivant Sr. and Eileen Sturdivant.
She attended Gallup High School, where she later graduated. Marti moved to San Juan County in 1981, and married Jack R. Wilden in 1983 in Cortez, Colo.
Marti had a contagious smile and great sense of humor and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and especially a dear friend to all. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Marti was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Ernest and Josie Sturdivant and Martha and Levi DeArmond; and by a sister, Patricia Bingham.
Marti is survived by her husband, Jack R. Wilden; son, Mick Hug; daughter, Krista Wilden; sisters, Gail Woods and Louise Brashears; brothers, Otis Sturdivant Jr., Richard Sturdivant and Tony Alvarado; and by two granddaughters, Jackson and Phelan Hug, whom she loved and adored.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of Marti's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington.
A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in Marti's memory to the Four Corners Women's Cancer Support Group, 731 W. Animas St., Farmington, NM, 87401; Special Olympics of New Mexico, 6600 Palomas NE, Albuquerque, NM ,87109; or the Shriners Children's Hospitals at (800) 241-GIFT or e-mail [email protected].

Jack,Krista,Mick,
I am very sadden by the news of Marti. She was a very special woman. Dwight and I hold a very loving and warm place in our hearts for her! She loved Ceara just like she was one of her own.

The times we shared at the travel agency, and many BBQ and get togethers. We will always cherish the great memories we shared!

I know Marti is in heaven watching down on us! She is our special ANGEL now. Thank you so much for sharing Marti with us!!!

Jack, Krista,Mick and family,

My deepest sympathy for your loss...I wish I knew the right words to ease your pain..

I first met Marti when I was a little girl living in Gamerco NM..Than again when she and Mick worked at Anasazi Inn here in Farmington my sister Cyndi and I also worked there at that time...

Marti was a very special person and friend...We became email pals the past few years and I enjoyed receiving her story's,jokes, family news, pictures and friendship...I will miss her very much..

God be with you at this time, she is in no more pain and know you will see her again one day.....

Dear Jack, Krista, Mick, and family,

I am sending this with my deepest condolonces, however, I feel blessed and honored to have known such a wonderful woman.

Marti was like a second mother to me, I felt, and Krista will always be my older sister.

Marti will be missed by all that knew her and I will never forget her. I will always remember her smile and hear her voice.
