Dear family, the first time I met your mom she was very kind to me and she became very dear to me also. I met her through Elder Jim Hamblin. She took me in just like a member of the church when I first went to the Hickory Grove United Baptist Church. I will always remember her and her kindness to a stranger and becoming a friend. My deep sorrow for you and all. Let the peace that Jesus gives come to you at this time. May you find comfort in knowing that she is at home at last. I am sorry I can't come to the viewing on March 15. I wish I could come and give you my love. But accept this as my love to you and your love ones. May God bless you and comfort you at this time. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. I hope this gives you comfort. With Christian love.

I always liked aunt Minnie. Minnie was a friendly lady who made you feel special to her. I remember the Christmas dinners at mamaw Riley s house. Minnie was a wonderful cook, her chicken and dumplings were terrific, as well as her fudge. She was a down to earth lady, and also, my mamaw s( Alta) one dearest friend and more than just a sister in law. I hope papaw(Elmer) is with her now cutting up and laughing with her, and I can hear Russell and papaw talking about hunting just like they always did. May Jesus return very soon so we can all never have to say goodbye again. Vicki (Riley) Van der Veen..Sacramento, CA
