John Delgado Obituary
Delgado Jr.
Went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on September 20, 2016. He was a very loved, admired, and well respected man to his family, friends and community. He was a lifelong resident of San Pedro where he raised his family and served his city. He served on School Site Councils, Park Advisory Boards, Board of Trustees, President of Central Neighborhood Council, Co-Founder of SP Youth Sports Assoc., was a candidate for the 2011 CD15 Councilman election and so much more. Johnny served Jesus Christ for 20 years strong and in the church as a youth leader, in children's church, an Armourbearer, Head Usher and Elder. His greatest roles were Husband and Father. He will be remembered by his wife, Gina, of 19 years, his children, Angelina, John, Paul and Joseph and his siblings, Laurie, Tina, Roseanne and Gilbert and all his extended family. Services will be held on Monday, October 10th at 10am at the Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Johnny by sending a love offering to his church, Integrity Christian Center, 3555 Lomita Blvd, Unit K, Torrance, CA 90505. I just heard Johnny passed away today. He was my brother's close friend when they were in High school and was what I used to call my weekend brother. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. I am shocked! I have nothing but fond memories of him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family!

It is with a heavy heart that we offer our sincere condolences to the family of and say rest in peace to Johnny. Johnny and I (Sonny) attended grade school together beginning in kindergarten at Cabrillo Avenue Elementary in San Pedro. Johnny was bright, friendly and a best friend of mine in those days. Although we took slightly different paths over the years, I always enjoyed running into him locally at games, civic events or just around town. I and my wife, Beth, especially looked forward to sitting with him and Gina in the stands at POLAHS basketball games. We often spoke of how lucky we were to have known each other so long and that now our sons, Paul and Dante, were schoolmates and teammates as well. Johnny was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Our Deepest Condolences to Gina, children & family~ John was an amazing young man, whom we had the pleasure to call him our 'little brother'. He started in the industry 20 years ago, and we hired him from trade school~ He was like a sponge, wanted to learn anything and everything he can~ We are so proud of his accomplishments and always looked forward to seeing what his next adventure was~ He is greatly missed and will NEVER be forgotten. I just want to say thank you John , Thank you for giving me a chance and providing the opportunity for me to be apart of Bloch field during your brief stint there . Allot of people may not realize it but you single handily helped re establish softball , not just at Bloch but San Pedro in general . When you gave me the keys to that field you placed a trust in me allot of others may not have given . It was an honor. I learned to umpire because of you . I also learned how to drag the field and chalk the lines properly . These things would not have been possible without your consent . I'm going to miss your positive attitude and great personality . All the small conversations we had . I'll never forget them . My heart goes out to your family , wife and children . You'll be sorely missed my friend . Rest easy in the arms of our lLord .
