Carrie Moran Obituary

Carrie Ann Moran of Bristol, VT passed away on September 10th, 2017 at UVM Medical Center from complications due to bilateral pulmonary embolism. Carrie graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1972 and went on to the University of Vermont, graduating with a degree in English. This began her life-long career in education, journalism, early childhood literacy, and writing. She had fond memories of working for the Daily Camera and wrote the Kidbits column about raising triplets. Carrie's greatest joy was her triplet daughters Emily Lynne (Ryan Williams), Laurel Faye, and Natalie Brooke, and her seven grandchildren Augie, Abby, Alex, Logan, Quinn, Angelina, and Finnley; who have all survived her. She was Quinn's foster mother during his infancy and Finnley's foster mother from his birth to the time of her death. Carrie was predeceased by her fathers, Michael Moran and Lee Wetzel, and her cherished son in law, Ryan Frazier. She is survived by her husband, Edwin, her mother, Ruth, stepfather Jerry, her sisters Kathleen, Maureen, and Cosey (Eric) and brother, Terry; 11 nieces and nephews; one great-niece and one great-nephew. She is survived by many Moran and Wetzel extended family. Carrie was a life-long participant in community theater productions. She loved the mountains and took any chance possible to go to the beach. She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and loved animals; at the time of her death she had a turtle, five cats, and a dog. Carrie was the caretaker of family photos and memories; her life was spent connecting with and caring for family. Carrie's will to persevere and thrive was inspirational. Her positivity never wavered. During her pregnancy with the triplets she encountered numerous health complications; she was pronounced dead three times in the hours and days after their emergency birth and went on through intensive rehabilitation and willpower to live to raise her children, complete her Master's degree at the University of Colorado while they were toddlers, to have a successful career in journalism and to teach all over the state of Vermont. Carrie's role in her large family is irreplaceable and she will be deeply missed for the rest of our lives. A private memorial for family and close friends is planned on October 14th. The Cremation Society of Chittenden County a division of the Ready Funeral Home in Burlington is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to any chapter of the Humane Society.

I know you asked a donation to any humane society but, I donated in her name to "Guide Dogs for the Blind" and would to know if I may have someone's contact so guide dogs can send a letter or card to your family? I believe Carrie would of apptoved this support also.

God bless you all!
