Deborah A. King, 67, of Connellsville, peacefully passed away on Aug. 12, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 29, 1955, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Steve and Madeline (Sefcheck) Faynor.
Debbie was a 1973 graduate of Connellsville High School and a 1975 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing. She worked in the field of nursing for more than 25 years. Debbie had a heart of gold and together with her husband Mark combined their passion for helping others by founding King Physical Therapy & Fitness in Connellsville and Scottdale. Debbie and Mark opened King Physical Therapy & Fitness in September of 2000 and positively impacted many lives in the local community for the next 20 years until their retirement. Debbie's favorite season was summer. She was an avid gardener and loved all the beautiful flowers in her numerous gardens. On a warm summer day, she was often found in her pool playing with her grandkids, cutting flowers in her garden, or picking blueberries in her blueberry field.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Mark King; her children, Emily King Watkins and her husband Graham of Scottdale; Matthew King and his wife Visnja (Acimovic) of New Stanton; Jarrod King and his fiancée Amber Hyatt of New Stanton; and her four grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Aiden and Madeline Watkins, and Elijana and Evalija King. Debbie is also survived by her sisters, Dolores Hiles of Connellsville, and Deanne Karpiak and husband, Richard of Vanderbilt; her brother-in-law Philip King and wife, Rebecca of Pittsburgh; her sister-in-law Leanne Bell of Connellsville; her sister-in-law Joyce King of Lewistown; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Janet Farrah and her husband Daniel; and her brother in-law Douglas King. Family and friends will be received at the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 until 10 a.m., the hour of her memorial service.
