Derek James Hillen, 34, of Connellsville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022.
He was born April 12, 1988, in Mt. Pleasant. Derek attended Calvary Assembly of God Church and was a member of Singnal Fire Ministry.
He was employed by Nemacolin Woodlands in the housekeeping department.
Derek enjoyed attending wrestling events with his mother and discussing politics. Derek is survived by his mother, Cindy (Richter) Hillen of Connellsville, and two brothers, Jeremy Hillen of Mt. Pleasant and Darrel Hillen of Ruffsdale; a very special nephew, Forrest Emerson Hillen of Mt. Pleasant; grandparents, Beatrice Richter of Connellsville, and Patty and Frank Polanovsky of Connellsville, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Derek was predeceased in death by his father, James Emerson Hillen; grandfathers, Darrel Hillen and Bernard Richter; great-grandparents, Emerson and Olive Hillen; one uncle, William Dellinger; an aunt, Dorla Hillen; cousins, Renee Hillen, Jimmy Boyer, and Parker Means. Derek will be sadly missed by all, especially his cats Rocky and Sally.
Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville (724-628- 9033) on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to noon, the time of service with Pastor Matt Goldsberry officiating.
