Emily C. Horvers

KINGSTON-Emily C. Horvers, 93, of South Pine Street died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.
Born Sept. 20, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mathilda (Bilyou) Banks.
For 30 years, Mrs. Horvers worked as a monitor at the George Washington School. She was a member of the social lunch club "The Lunch a Bunchers" who met the first two Friday's of each month.
Surviving are sons, Fred Horvers of Lake Katrine, Joseph Horvers and his wife Jeanne, Michael Horvers and his wife Sue, Kenneth Horvers and his wife Patti, Thomas Horvers and his wife Judy all of Kingston and Dennis Horvers and his wife Donna of Hurley; her daughters, Deborah Beal (her husband the late Bill Beal) of Ulster Park and Patricia Howard and her husband James of Kingston; daughters-in-law Mary Horvers of Kingston and Paula Horvers of Port Ewen, 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband, John Horvers, Sr. died in April 1977. Her daughter, Cathy Kahrs-Hill; sons, John Horvers, Jr. and Robert Horvers; sister Eleanor Vedder; brothers; Joseph Banks, Earl Banks and George Banks also died previously.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at The Hurley Reformed Church Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Lieu of Flowers may be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis Tenn., 38105-9959.
