Karen Sadler Obituary

Karen Sadler SHOKAN- Karen Sadler ,69 of Reservoir Road died Friday, July 20, 2012 in New Paltz after a battle with COPD. She was a lifetime area resident, and graduate of Onteora High School and U.C.C.C. Karen had been an associate real estate broker at various agencies having last worked with Sophie Sirpanlis. She was a talented stain glass craftsperson, who also enjoyed collecting bells, and at one time had been a league bowler. She loved animals, especially her therapy dog right up to the end. Her family lovingly recalls her chocoholic tendencies. She was born in New Jersey on June 7, 1943 daughter of the late Oscar and Anna Kawaski Lettel. Surviving are her husband Gary of Shokan, daughter Danielle Herbert of Sullivan Co., and son: Ashley Miiles and his wife Joann Ploude of Shokan. She was widowed by her first husband Jon Herbert in 1976. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Karen is being planned in a meadow with blue flowers, per her wishes.
