Alvin England Obituary

Alvin G. England Scotia Alvin G. England, 86, of Scotia passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Baptist Health Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Scotia. Born and raised in Missouri, he was the son of the late Lawson and Pearl Mae England. Having joined the US Navy at the age of 17, Mr. England served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed as a master mechanic, working for Operating Engineers Union 106 until his retirement in 1991. Al enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the country. He adored his family, and especially cherished time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. England was predeceased by his first wife, Louise Hampton England; his son, Randy England; and four brothers. Mr. England is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, whom he married on January 4, 1986. He is also survived by his sons, Leonard (Michele) Marger and David (Cindi) Marger; his daughter, Dawn (Joe) Reno; his five grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Oaten, Nicholas Marger, Megan Marger, Erica Marger, and Elliott Marger; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY 12302. A private burial with Military Honors at Park Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
