Anne Christman

Anne Christman Scotia - Anne Christman, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing and Rehabilitation in Albany.
She was the daughter of the late Leah (Mahoney) and William S. Christman and was predeceased by a brother, William S. Christman, sisters Helen Mead and Joan Arnold, and nephews David and Michael Christman.
Anne graduated from Scotia High School and received a nursing diploma from the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing and a B.S. in Nursing from Russell Sage College.
In her nursing career, she worked in Rochester, NY; Cleveland, OH; Dublin, Ireland; Schenectady, NY, and spent many summers as a camp nurse for the Rochester YMCA. She retired from St. Clare's Hospital.
Anne was an avid square dancer and traveler. She volunteered at the Shaker Heritage Society and for many years attended the Camp Gorham Family Camp near Big Moose each summer. She was a member of the Schenectady County Historical Society, Shaker Heritage Society, Albany Institute of History & Art, the R.N. Club, the Arkell Museum, the Town of Webb Historical Society, and sang with the Shenendehowa Senior Chorus.
Anne is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 231 2nd St, Scotia, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the mass at church. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Bethesda House of Schenectady, 834 State St., Schenectady, NY 12307, City Mission of Schenectady, PO Box 760, Schenectady, NY 12301, or the Regional Food Bank of NENY, 965 Albany-Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110-1409.
