Eileen Latimer Obituary

Eileen Latimer Niskayuna - Eileen (Oates) Latimer, 83, died at home, Friday, May 10, 2024. Eileen was born in Brookline, MA to the late Thomas and Mary (Folan) Oates and has lived in the Schenectady area most of her life.
She was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and received her master's in education at SUNY, Albany.
Mrs. Latimer taught in Boston for 2 years and also in Wurzburg, Germany returning to teach the remainder of her career at Shenendehowa School System. Mrs. Latimer was a communicant of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Rosa Road, Schenectady.
Mrs. Latimer is survived by two sons; Thomas (Alison) Latimer of Chapel Hill, NC and John Latimer of Schenectady, three sisters; Sr. Mary Oates, CSJ, of Boston, MA, Dorothy Doyle and Clare Oates both of Weston, MA, many nieces and nephews and also great nieces and nephews and brother-in-law; George Latimer. She was predeceased by her husband; Philip, who died in 2015, her brother; Rev. Thomas Oates, her sisters, Patricia (Oates) Coates, brother-in-law; Bill Latimer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 9 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 2216 Rosa Road, Schenectady. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, following the mass. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.

I was sorry to hear about eileen's passing. She was friends of my mother and she always asked how I was doing. She was my teacher as well and just a nice person to talk to when needed. My condolences to her family may her light shine bright in heaven.

I´m so sorry to hear of Eileen´s passing. She was an outstanding teacher and compassionate person. I was fortunate to teach with her at Skano Elementary School.
