Janet Marie (Rankin) Lewis, 78, of Glenville, formerly of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Born in Schenectady on September 3, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Ellen (Carswell) Rankin. She was educated in Niskayuna Schools and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her husband, Richard T. Lewis on May 17, 1975, by her daughter Dawn Haggart and her son in law Brian Harvey. Survivors include her children, Julie Harvey of Charleston, Richard Lewis of Glenville, Ronald (Tracey) Lewis of Providence, NY and Sarah (Edward) Montysko of Mayfield; her son in law, William Haggart of Glenville; her brothers, Gary (Drama) Rankin of OH and Kenneth (Celia) Rankin of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4pm at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 3pm-4pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
