John Witkowski Obituary
Niskayuna - Jack passed away at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the age of 87. The son of the late Dr. John S. Witkowski, Sr. and Agnes M. Witkowski nee Kubala, he was born and raised in Niagara Falls along with his sisters, Agnes J. Witkowski and Irene E. Witkowski Agrawal. Both sisters predeceased him. Jack graduated from St. John Kanty Preparatory School in Erie, PA in 1954 where he excelled in baseball, football and track, learned Polish and lamented about the fact that it was an all-male school. He received a B.S. in Natural Science cum laude from Niagara University in 1958 and moved on to Albany College of Pharmacy from which he received his degree cum laude in 1962. While attending pharmacy school, he met Linda Lou Palilon who was attending Albany Teacher's
College. They married in 1963; Linda was the love of his life, predeceasing him in March 2017. Jack and Linda loved animals of all types and were known to take in and provide a loving home for feral cats.
While Jack had a career in pharmacy for several years, he found his calling in researching, investing in and keeping meticulous records of the companies that he studied. He watched the stock market and read the Wall Street Journal until his dying day. Services will be held at a later date for invited friends and family.

I have known I knew Jack and Linda Witkowski all my life, and I am so sad to hear of Jack´s passing. I was glad to know that my parents kept up with them all of their lives. My mother´s last phone call with him was in 2019-2020, before her death. My last visit with them at their home was likely in 2010, as I lived many states away from them. Jack & Linda were famous for sending us their renowned and delicious date-nut bread, every Christmas - us and over 100 other people. They thought of others alongside or before themselves. I have lots of stories, old pictures, videos, etc. of them at our home. Jack was a loving husband to Linda, and a devoted friend to my parents (Len & Carol James, who predeceased Jack) and to our family. Linda and my mother were Albany Teachers College (SUNY) college roommates and lifelong friends. Jack and Lynda were at my house for Christmases growing up, and we used to say he was a "Big Kid," who would play with our toys right alongside us kids. He will be extremely missed on this earth, yet we will all meet again in Heaven. Love, Cheryl (James) Foster and family
