KRISTOPHER CHEW Obituary

Kristopher Bryan Chew, 52, of Charlton, departed this world, but not the hearts of those who love him, on Friday, the first of April, 2011. He entered into the arms of our Lord, and his father, Charles R. Chew, who left us on November 18th, 2010. Kris spent most of his life in the towns of Glenville and Charlton. He was a past member of both the East Glenville and Charlton Fire Departments and past president and lifetime member of the Saratoga County Fire Police Association. Kris was self-employed and owned his own delivery service. Kris is survived by his wife, Marilyn Cerniglia Chew; his children, Donnelle Riccio-Huck (Timothy), Garth Riccio (Nichole), Toria English (Blake), Bryanne Adria Chew; grandsons, Cruz and Augustine English; his mother, Joyce Chew; siblings, Claudia Jacumski, Eric Chew (Susan), Adria Chew, Philip Chew (Jackie), Timothy Chew (Mary Lynn) and Eliza Bongrazo; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vincent and June Cerniglia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Andy Shave. Kris is also the uncle and great-uncle of several nieces and nephews and godfather to Laura Jacumski. A gathering in Kris' memory will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A brief celebration service at 7 p.m. will offer an opportunity for the sharing of memories, stories and thoughts. A Christian Mass will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park. His greatest joy came from his work with Center for Donation and Transplant. Being part of this incredible team was humbling and a great honor for Kris. In lieu of flowers, Kris' family requests donations be made in his name to Center for Donation and Transplant, 218 Great Oaks Blvd., Albany, NY 12203. The family of Kristopher would like to thank those who were involved with this journey. Especially Dr. John Delmonte and Beth Ann of the Rexford Cancer Center whose goodness and kindness went beyond measure, the tender compassion of the Hospice team of both Saratoga and Schenectady who showed us the way, and all those who have been so supportive, understanding, considerate and loving. Please know how much Kristopher and Marilyn appreciated you all.

Kris was a one-of-a-kind individual, dedicated beyond compare ~ he held more consideration for human-kind in his one pinkie than most people I know. To the Aragorn Family, I am heartbroken for your loss! I know he will be sadly missed on so many levels. To Kris, I know you are going to be God's messenger up there just as much as you were down here! We will meet again, my friend, but in the meantime I'm trusting you have the 'to God's ear..." part covered.
