Louis Mayersohn Jr.

Louis "Bud" Mayersohn Jr., 89, formerly of Mechanicville, died peacefully Thursday, June 18 at Saratoga Hospital, four days shy of his 90th birthday. Born in Albany, NY, June 22, 1925, he was the son of Louis and Kate Linn Mayersohn Sr. A United States Army veteran, Bud served during WWII. After returning home from the War, Bud worked as a bookkeeper for his families accounting firm, Mayersohn & Sons in Albany. Later on in life, he joined his dear friend, Tom, working with him at his flower shop, Grogan Florist in Clifton Park. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed antiquing. He is survived by his longtime friend, Thomas P. Grogan of Mechanicville; and Tom's daughters, Laurie and Cynthia Ficili; as well as his brother, David (Bernadette) Mayersohn of Albany; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Stanley and Arnold Mayersohn. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9 at Ushers Road, Round Lake, NY. Burial with military honors to follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville. There will be no calling hours. In leiu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in memory of Louis "Bud" Mayersohn Jr. Arrangements by the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, Mechanicville.
