Lynn McConchie Obituary

It is with extreme sorrow that Linda McConchie announces the passing of her husband, Lynn W. McConchie, Sr. on May 10, 2021. Lynn was born on May 31, 1945. He was predeceased by his parents Earl and Geradine McConchie and his brother Earl, Jr and sister Nadine. Lynn is survived by his wife, Linda of 57 years, his two sons, Lynn McConchie, Jr. (Lisa), Leigh McConchie (Kim) and his daughter Laura McConchie. Lynn is also survived by his six grandchildren, Kessiah and Kameron McConchie, Skyler and Mieleigh McConchie, Jessalynn Crusado and Colynn Tubbs, and 2 great grandchildren Kayzleigh and Kragar McConchie. There are also two very special ladies that were like his grandchildren, Tiffany Crusado and Crystal Rogers. Upon graduation from Galway Central School in 1968 he attended and graduated from Spencer Business Institute where he was enrolled in the court reporting program. This profession led him to work for 30+ years in Saratoga County Court as a Senior Court Reporter where he worked with many outstanding judges and sat for several high profile criminal cases. Lynn retired in 2004 to pursue his passions of playing baseball, golf, bowling and sailing. He joined an over 30 baseball league as a player and soon became the coach while still playing first base or pitching. In 2006 he pitched a no hitter at the age of 61. He continued to play sports until his unfortunate stroke while on the baseball field. He never again regained the ability to play those sports but he continued to be a fighter until the very end. He always asked about everyone of his grandchildren no matter how close or how far away they were. The number 22 will forever be etched in his family members' hearts. We will remember the happy memories and always remember you as the fierce pitcher on the mound. Viewing hours will be on May 14, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, Inc., 2034 West Street, Galway. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, May 15, 2021 in the funeral home. Interment services will follow in the family plot in West Charlton Cemetery. Per CDC and local guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required for all public services. Donations can be made in memory of Lynn McConchie to the Altamont Rescue Squad, 767 NY-146, Altamont, NY 12009. Arrangements by Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, Inc., Galway.

To Linda, the family and friends of Lynn McConchie,

It was a privilege to have known Lynn in his capacity as the longtime Senior Court Reporter in Saratoga County Court during my years of private practice when Judge Loren Brown was on the bench. It was my distinct pleasure to have socialized with Lynn at functions of the Saratoga County Bar Association when he would invariably appear as Judge Brown's partner in doubles on the tennis court. Judge Brown didn't like to lose, and he knew if Lynn was his partner, victory was assured. Whatever negative feelings I might have experienced upon defeat at their hands was soon dispelled by Lynn's witty and well-timed sense of humor. Lynn was one of the good guys who provide added value to the lives of everyone they touch. Please accept my deep condolences on your loss.
