Peter James Cole

1981 - 2021

Peter James Cole passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 surrounded by his family after a long struggle with mental illness and addiction. Peter was born on November 27, 1981 in Albany, NY to his loving and devoted parents, Owen and Anne Cole. A longtime resident of Schenectady and Charlton, NY, he attended Burnt Hills High School and Schenectady County Community College. Forever young, Peter was enthusiastic about his hobbies; including baseball, skateboarding, video games, and music. When he wasn't being mischievous with his siblings, Timothy and Bridget, he instilled his passions in them. Peter espoused that life is meant to be enjoyed, and his carefree spirit is enduring. In addition to his immediate family, Peter is survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. They wish to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Ellis Hospital for their excellent care. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Peter's life on Monday, August 9th from 5-8 p.m. at the Schenectady Ancient Order of Hibernians at 1748 State St. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Tuesday morning at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville, 400 Saratoga Rd, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mohawk Opportunities Inc., 201 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, NY 12307.
