Phillip H. Vennett

Phillip H. Vennett, 79, of Rotterdam NY, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 11, 2021. He fought a hard battle with lung cancer. Phil was born in Amsterdam, NY, to Peter (Vennett) Venet and Anna Mae Cramer. He worked at the General Electric Company for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed playing golf and wood working making rocking horses, bird houses, and furniture. Phil enjoyed going camping during the summer at Sacandaga Reservoir at the Adirondack Foothills RV Campground. His favorite vacations were cruising to the Panama Canal, Alaska, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Phil is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah Ann Vennett. His children Phillip Vennett Jr. (Tina), Thomas Vemmett (Quenby), Robin Ludwin (Matthew), and Timothy. His grandchildren Tara Ludwin, Cody Ludwin, Janelle Vennett, Kayla Vennett, and Elizabeth Vennett. His sisters, Martha Rogers and Sophie Hrycenko (Michael). Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Peter Vennett, Robert Vennett, Martin Cramer, and sisters, Patricia Hayes, and Clara Cionek. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Monday, July 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam. There will be no calling hours. The family would like to thank Community Hospice for the wonderful treatment that Phil received while in their care, especially his nurse, Laura and his doctor, Dr. Robert Donohue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Phil, can be made to Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany NY 12205.
