Richard Lang Obituary

Richard Paul Lang Coppell, TXLang, Richard Paul, 88, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2012, in Coppell, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 8, 1923 in Buffalo, New York to Jacob and Dorothy Mary (Iten) Lang. Mr. Lang was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II where he was stationed in Saipan from 1942-1945. He received his electrical engineering degree with honors from Clarkson College in Potsdam, New York in 1950. He holds a professional engineering license in the state of New York. He was the author of many technical papers and was a member of the General Electric Elfin Society. During his professional career, he traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Russia. He was employed at General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York, Roanoke, Virginia and Lynn, Massachusetts for 38 years. He had been a resident of St. Joseph's Retirement Village in Coppell since July 2008. Mr. Lang is preceded in death by his sister, Miriam Mahoney and husband, Bernard Mahoney, brother, Robert Lang and wife, Paulette. Mr. Lang is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy; son, Mark Lang and wife, Susan of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Andrea McIntyre (Alan) of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Rebecca and Peter Lang of Greensboro, Alex and Andrey McIntyre of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11 a.m.at St. Joseph's Chapel. Military honors will follow at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to the Parkinsonism Society, 6370 LBJ Freeway #176, Dallas, Texas 75240. Arrangements conducted under the direction of Restland Coppell Chapel, 400 S. Freeport Pkwy., Coppell, TX 75019.
