Shawn M. Tomlinson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shawn M. Tomlinson of Broadalbin, New York, who passed away on February 20th 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert M. Tomlinson, his mother Lois Winona Tierney and his wife Carole Anne Tomlinson. He is survived by his stepchildren Kathryn Marie Kutny, Michael Ambrose Rock and his granddaughter Kara Hailey Kutny.

Shawn Tomlinson was a Newspaperman and life long Broadalbin resident. He worked as an editor and photographer for the Leader Herald, The Amsterdam Recorder, Schenectady Gazette, and many other publications. Shawn was editor of The Medina Journal Register and Albion Advertiser in Medina New York. He worked for some years as a freelance writer for Mac Week in California.

In 1983 with three of his friends he formed Zirlinson publishing and over the next 30 years published more than 150 Chapbooks, eBooks and periodicals.

From 1996 to 2014 Shawn edited and wrote several biographical works about Robert W. Chambers. In 2014 these works were collected into "Robert W. Chambers, Master of The King in Yellow." the only complete biography of Robert W. Chambers.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
