Stephen M. Denison

Stephen M. Denison, age 47 of Clifton Park passed away at home due to several health issues on May 27, 2023. Born on October 23, 1975, he was the son of James Denison and the late Maureen Larkin Denison. He was predeceased by his sister Sarah Denison, his grandparents Mildred and Maurice Larkin and Margaret and Lawrence Denison and brother-in-law Brendan Fitzgerald.

Stephen graduated from the Shenendehowa Central school district in 1993. He attended Siena College where he received a bachelor's degree in political science. He then furthered his education at the American University in Washington D.C. obtaining his master's degree in comparative politics. While living in D.C. he worked for a law firm that dealt with the Federal Communications Commission in licensing radio, television and other over the air communications. At his time of death, he worked for the New York State Dept. of Motor Vehicles where he worked on IT projects for the agency as a Senior Administrative Analyst.

Stephen had a lifelong love of reading and learning which started at a very young age. He particularly loved to read biographies and books about politics and history. Stephen was a voracious reader, reading multiple books a week and had an uncanny ability to retain the information. He stayed up to date on current events and technology, had a love of travel, and was happiest when sharing his knowledge and experiences with his friends and family. Stephen enjoyed holiday gatherings and loved giving Christmas gifts, especially to his nephew. Stephen had a witty sense of humor which will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his father James, he is survived by his siblings Lauren Denison and Ryan, (Abby) Denison, his cherished nephew Jack, aunt and uncle Barbara and Daniel Freiert, as well as several cousins and extended family.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. A burial will follow at the Galway Village Cemetery, Route 147, just north of the Galway Central School complex. All are welcome at the cemetery.

The family requests no flowers be sent. Donations may be made in his memory to an organization of one's choice.
