Victor Ragucci Obituary

Victor J. Ragucci SchenectadyVictor J. Ragucci, 87, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 18, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Ragucci was born in Schenectady to the late Nick and Anne Penta Ragucci and was a lifelong Schenectady resident. Mr. Ragucci attended Siena College and was a WW II veteran, serving in the Army. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and St. Joseph's Church in Schenectady and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Ragucci was the owner and operator of Vic's Luncheonette on Edison Avenue in Schenectady for 65 years. Mr. Ragucci was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose Marie LaPoint Ragucci; three children, Victoria Ragucci, Roberta (George) Teta and Ronald Ragucci; six grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Teta, Anthony (Georgianna) Teta and Ashely Teta, Nicholas Ragucci, Maria Ragucci and Alyssa Ragucci. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, a cousin, Ralph Perrino and his best buddy, his dog, Benny. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11 at St. John the Evangelist Church. There will be no calling hours. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Schenectady Cancer Foundation, 1509 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12309 or to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 or to the Little Sisters of the Poor , 1 Jeanne Jugan Ln., Latham, NY 12110. The family of Mr. Ragucci wish to thank Dr. John Pramenko, Dr. Thomas Goodman and the staff of Community Hospice of Schenectady for all of their kindness and the care they provided.
