Barb was not only a good friend of mine, she was like family! When I met her, I realized I was already friends with her kids. I just knew that she was going to be wonderful like them. Through the years working at Holmes, we became really close. Barb even moved by me, with my recommendation!!! We shared many special memories (always laughter filled.) My entire family loved Barb and her great personality! My husband thought the world of her! I will always remember the special friend I had and cherished! I strive to be half the person that Barb was! I love Barb and can't wait to meet her again in Heaven. Beano, you are the best!

I am so sorry about the loss of your mother, Barb. Barb was always a pleasure to work with and a fun person to just have around you. She was always happy with a smile on her face.

And to all of Barb's children, you were truly the best and most important part of her life. She always spoke about you to all of us and she shared in your joys and sorrows. Having Brandon in her life was also such a gift to her. She was always willing she share a cute story about him and the pride showed in her smile!

May your memories provide you some comfort. Barb was deeply loved and she will be missed by many.

Barb was the best cousin you could ever have! From as far back as I can remember the world began to sparkle when we, as little kids, heard Barbara was comming to Michigan. For Barbara had a special place in my father's heart-she was his girl. You see he was her "God Father" and they honored that relationship always.
Many times at the cottage in the U.P. or Wisconson she would have her Uncle Dick sing"Our Father". The whole cottage would shake! What great times!
We took the train to Chicago to her beautiful wedding and I still remember my father dancing with Beautiful Barbara!
I speak for all my brothers and my mother when I say how much we loved your mother and sister. We are so sorry that we are not there to honor her and support you. Somehow we are all scattered all over the world but know we are all sending you our love and prayers.
I know my father was waiting to greet Barbara when she went to heaven and I know he will send us his healing love so we can heal from the pain of losing her.
We love you guys.We wish we were there-just to be with you.
all my love,
your cousin
Rose

Barbie Doll Baker, how I will miss calling you that, how I will miss you at the Baker functions. When we met 10 years ago I believe the similarities in our lives (single moms, trying to support our children and somehow have a life of our own!) helped us to form a bond that will never be broken.
I am sure you were smiling down at your family and how proud you must’ve been for they paid you the extreme compliment just by the words they spoke and their brave actions. You did good Barbie, REAL GOOD!
Now as you enter your everlasting life with your mom, paw, Craig and Keith, keep watch over the family who have lost a piece of their heart on 9/11 and let them know that you will always be with them, as their own special angel, and what a beautiful angel you are. Always in our hearts Barbie we love you.

To the Baker and Stevens family we extend our profound condolences.

To Dan, Tim, Keith, Julie and Brandon we are deeply sorry that we cannot be there to enfold you in our arms during this time of pain. Nothing we can say or do will ease the hurt you are feeling right now but believe us the warm memories you carry of your mother will always be with you.

She truly loved every one of you very deeply and was always proud as a peacock of each you. Dad & Anely

There was no one like Barb. She truly was one of a kind. She was a friend like no other. No matter what, if you needed her, she was there, to talk to, to listen, or to just sit and say nothing, but be there for you. There are so many memories that I have and will always have of our times together. Barb never dwelled on the bad, only the good. The last time we were together, grandchildren was the topic for hours. She went through so much, but her courage is and had been an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Barb’s family was her everything and each life that Barb touched is richer for it. She will be forever in my heart.

I am grateful to have known Barb. She was always interested in knowing about what was going on with my son. Brandon is about the same age so we would compare notes at lunch.

She was always very positive and I know family and friends were the most important thing to her.

Barb and I shared a love of the north, specifically Northern Michigan. When she vacationed there last year she was kind enough to bring a rock from the shore of Lake Superior for me. The rock is in the shape of a heart, how appropriate, Barb was always giving her heart to everyone. I will miss her.

I didn't get a chance to work more with her. It was quite a few time period that I worked with her. But during that time the impression she has left on my mind is wonderfully carved. She was a very quite, gentle, and loving lady. Today also I remember her smiling and loving face, when I go to the library.

My deepest sympathies to the Schwind family.

I would visit Holmes on occasion and Barb & I would enjoy discussing our pets, her dad & my mom. She loved her family & Dusty so much.

We would also sometimes meet at "Yappy Hour" with my Norton & her beloved Dusty & enjoy some play time together.

She was truly a warm and caring person and will be missed dearly.

Barb and I became friends almost immediately when I started teaching. She made me feel so comfortable with any questions that I may have had. I felt like I could talk to her about anything. She always teased me for being the "sports section stealer", and I will always remember that each and every time I "steal" the newspaper. You're already missed Barb!

Barb was a close and caring friend to both my brother-in-law and sister, Bill and Diane Rantz. Although I never had the chance to spend a lot of time with Barb, I will always remember her bright smile and friendly face. She was truly one of the kindest and most sincere people I have ever met. It is extremely difficult to understand why such a beautiful person has been taken from this earth at such a young age. They say the good die young, and we all know that Barb was as good as they get. Please know that I share in your grief and extend my heartfelt sympathies to Barb's family and all of those who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

Sincerely,

Jeri Oroni

Barb was the kindest, most sincere and sympathetic person I have ever had the privilege to call "friend". She was always there for anyone who needed encouragement or a shoulder to cry on. She had every admirable trait that any human being could strive to achieve. She will live in my heart forever, and in the hearts of all those that loved her.

Barb will be greatly missed at Holmes Junior High. Her warmth and friendly personality made her a favorite among our staff. It was obvious that her children (Brandon) and Dusty were her 'everything.' She was a good friend and will always be remembered with love...
