Joseph Schwind Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNutt Funeral Home - Conroe on Mar. 5, 2026.
Joseph W. Schwind, of Conroe, TX, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at HCA Conroe Medical Center, at the age of 63. He was born on July 17, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio to Joseph and Jean Schwind.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Schwind; his sons, Allen Schwind and wife Emilie Schwind, and Rodney Schwind and wife Robin Schwind; his four cherished grandchildren, Leila, Easton, Everly and Annika Schwind; his mother Jean Rogers and Stepfather, Donny Rogers; his brother and sister, Tommy Schwind and Tina Meyers; his loyal best boy Eazy and many dear friends who became like family throughout his life.

Joseph spent the early part of his childhood in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Texas, where he later graduated from Nimitz High School in 1980. Texas became the place he proudly called home as he built a life centered around family, hard work and the outdoors.

His greatest joys in life were often found in the simple moments he shared with those he loved. Whether he was hunting and fishing with his boys, making trips to "the country" with his son AJ and stepdad Don, or spending quiet time tending to his chickens, he was happiest surrounded by family and the outdoors. He took immense pride in being a grandfather and found endless joy in spoiling his grandbabies, creating memories with them that will be cherished for years to come.

To those who knew him best, Joseph was a steady presence, a storyteller, and a man whose love showed most clearly in the time he gave to the people around him. His family will remember him for his dedication, his quiet strength, and the many memories made together through the years.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.

A service to celebrate Joseph's life will be held at McNutt Funeral Home on March 21, 2026, at 2 pm. A reception with his favorite food will be held in the same location.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Joseph J. Schwind and his grandparents William and Cecilia Schwind and Fred and Lillian Keplinger.
