Ida Schwind, 88 years young entered eternal rest December 15, 2025 at Atrium Hospice - Tucker House. Ida was surrounded by her beloved family members on her final days on earth. Ida was born in Talheim, Germany and lived there for 19 Years before moving to the United States, she resided in Union, NJ prior to meeting the love of her life Lawrence
She was employed by the Woodbridge Township School district and was the manager for JFK High School Cafeteria before retiring in 2000 and lived in Fords, NJ until moving to Charlotte, NC.
Ida was a passionate gardener and had a particular fondness for birds, with cardinals holding a special place in her heart. Her green thumb allowed her to cultivate vibrant gardens that were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Friends and family alike will remember her not just for her gardening skills but for the warmth she exuded when surrounded by her loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Dimock, and her husband Scott of Davidson NC; her grandsons, Tyler and Joshua Dimock of Davidson NC; her son, Lawrence Schwind, and his wife Stacy of Vernon, NJ; her grandsons, Reno Schwind of Vernon, NJ and Kyle Schwind of Reading PA; and step-grandchildren John and Ally. Ida also leaves behind three sisters, a brother, and several nieces and nephews who admired her and will carry on her legacy of love and care.
Ida was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Schwind; daughter-in-law Jacque Schwind; and five brothers. Her absence is deeply felt by all who knew her, as she enriched their lives with her gentle spirit and unconditional love. As we remember Ida, we reflect on the beautiful memories she created and the profound impact she had on her family and friends. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
