CAROL SCHAWEL Obituary

SLEEPY HOLLOW - Carol A. Schawel, age 76, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 24th, in McHenry, IL, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on September 14, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Thelma (nee Murten) Strasser. On May 15, 1965, she married her beloved husband and best friend, Dennis M. Schawel. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Dennis M.; their daughter, Robin (Brian) Wilson; their grandchildren, Rachel and Jeremy Schwingbeck, Megan (Michael) Salata and John (fiancee, Abbey Bickers); son, Knox Wilson. Other survivors include her sister, Barbara Armstrong; brothers-in-law, David (Janet) Schawel and Scott (Becky) Schawel; as well as many nieces and nephews, and countless good and faithful friends. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Kyle J. Schawel on June 21, 2017; her parents; and her mother- and father-in-law. At Carol's request, she was cremated. Memorial Funeral Services will be held at Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Paige Wolfanger, officiating. Inurnment will be private. Carol's family will be receiving friends and relatives at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Services.
