Daniel Heiman Obituary
Daniel F. Heiman, age 76, passed away peacefully at his Libertyville, IL home on June 29, 2024, from complications of ALS.
Born in Mendota, IL, he graduated high school in 1965 and earned a degree in physics from St. Olaf College in 1969. He taught high school sciences for the Peace Corps in Ghana (West Africa). Daniel earned his PhD in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1981. He was a research chemist for Abbott Laboratories and Valent Biosciences.
When not working, he sang (Camerata Singers, Lake Forest), played euphonium (North Suburban Wind Ensemble and Libertyville Village Band), and played lute in his living room. He served on the board of Ars Musica Chicago.
Daniel is survived by his wife Jineen (Krogstad). He was preceded in death by his brother Jeremy G. (2023) and his parents, Dan E. and Florine (Feulner) Heiman.
Visitation is Tuesday, July 23 at 5:30 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, 1380 N. Waukegan Rd, Lake Forest. Prelude (instrumental) is at 6:45 pm. Service is at 7:00 pm.
