DELMAR LINDERMAN

WEST DUNDEE - Delmar Linderman, age 71, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully with family by his side, on October 2, 2021 after a long battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rose (Hostetler); devoted Dad to Eric Linderman, Matt (Christy) Linderman, Heather (Jason) Beutler; cherished "Papa" to four grandsons, Max and Elliot Linderman, Gavin and Emmitt Beutler; beloved uncle to a wonderful group of nieces and nephews; and faithful friend to his sisters in-law and brothers in-law. Born in Elgin, IL, to parents, Elmer and Ebba (Palm) Linderman, who preceded him in death. He was raised in Des Plaines with older siblings, brother Myron "Bud" Linderman, deceased, and surviving sister, Lynette (Gaverth). After graduating Maine West High School in 1968, he studied computer science and worked briefly in the field, but chose to follow a job opportunity in metal finishing at TWR Service Corp. Del worked tirelessly to grow a successful company, which eventually resulted in an ownership position until he retired in 2013. He valued employees and customers alike and was known for running a well organized shop. While he preferred to keep things orderly, he had a great sense of humor and was no stranger to high jinks. His sweet tooth was well known, especially for candy and ice cream; he also loved bird watching, gardening, golfing, and all water related activities. Vacationing with family and friends brought him great joy and was always a high priority. Del's faith in Jesus Christ guided his path in life. He took multiple trips to the Dominican Republic on volunteer missions and served at Willow Creek's Care Center handling food donations. He regularly participated in small group Bible studies, where he enjoyed community and formed close knit bonds that lasted a lifetime. His legacy is generosity; it touched all who knew him. Whether you needed some advice, a mentor, a shoulder to cry on, an organizer, a painter, a remodeler, help with moving, or a guiding hand on a project, he gave selflessly. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 11th at Willow Creek Community Church in the chapel, 67 Algonquin Rd, South Barrington, IL 60010, parking lot B.
