I am just seeing this for the first time and I am so sorry. Please know that Mr. Trolliet was one of my all time favorite teachers. It is because of him that I went on to get my degree in Biology, ultimately teaching Physics at Highland Park High School. My sincerest sympathy to your family. Sue Cannon-Stephenitch (class of '78)

I just heard of coach's passing
As I told him at the reunion I wished I could have played baseball for him
The 69 football season was a blast with him
You were a players coach
Loved to hear the Casey stories
You were a great coach, but even a better man
you will be missed but never forgotten

my prayers go out to his family.... He was a dedicated proffessional at York High School. It saddens me to read of the passing of any of the York faculty.

So sorry to hear about Don's passing. Although I haven't seen him in awhile. I so enjoyed playing golf , talking baseball,or just hanging out with Don. How many guys do you know that were friends with Tom Seaver? He will be missed.

To a great coach and a wonderful personality- he motivated us on the field and in the classroom to be better players and students. We respected and trusted him so much that we asked him to chaperone our post prom group my senior year! He fit right in!

Coach, thank you for the life lessons on the gridiron, in the classroom, and in the hallways. You commanded and earned our respect and trust. I'll retain the memories you helped us create.

We knew Don as his first students and he swam in our backyard pool. (My Dad was also a Biology teacher at York) Great person and have many fine memories. He had the ability to talk directly to students without pretense. Thanks so much Don from the entire Ferry Family.

My condolences to your family. I remember him from York High School, Y89, when he was dean of students. He came off as a harsh person, but really had a heart of gold. I realized that he was just being a father to us kids.

Gene and I will never forget all of the great times we spent with Don and Darlene during the "Butterfield Woman's Club era." He was always the life of the party, knowing how to have a good time. But he had a gentle side that we always saw when he was with our children. They called him "Uncle Don." His family was very lucky to share his compassion and love every day. He will surely be missed by all of us. To Darlene and their wonderful family: May happy memories carry you through this sad time. We're sure you have many of these from your many years together. With Love & Sympathy, Gene & Sandy Pollastrini and Family
