DOROTHY ANN MEMENGA

1933 - 2016

ROSEMONT - Dorothy Ann Memenga, 82 years of age, lost her battle with cancer on April 5, 2016, peacefully at home with family. Born August 9, 1933 in Downers Grove, Illinois to George and Mae ( Martha) Smith. Married to Donald Memenga in 1970. Dorothy was stepmother to 6 children who she loved and cared for dearly. Dorothy resided in Wisconsin for 30 years. Ten years ago she moved to Rosemont for retirement. Dorothy was an active member of the Rosemont Senior Club, in addition to membership at Our Lady of Hope Church, where she donated her hand knitted hats for the homeless. Dorothy was survived by 6 stepchildren. Donald (Kathy) Memenga of Ripon, WI, Diane (Robert) Tarrello of Round Lake, IL, Gloria Memenga of Grayslake, IL, Steve (Debbie) Memenga of Plainfield, IL, Bryan (Erin) Memenga of Lindenhurst, IL and Jeff (Michelle) Memenga of Plainfield, IL, two brothers, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Donald Memenga, sister Gracie Ault, brother Johnny Smith and both Parents George and Martha Smith. Visitation Sunday April 10, 2016 at Our Lady of Hope Church, 9711 W. Devon Ave., Rosemont, Illinois from 4 to 8 p.m. Gathering Monday April 11, 2016 at the church from 9:15 a.m. to the time of mass 10 a.m. Interment AlI Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.
