Helen Damascus Obituary

Helen A. Damascus of Morton Grove A funeral Mass for Helen A. Damascus, 91, formerly of Chicago, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. John Neumann Church, 2900 E. Main St., St. Charles. The Rev. Matt McMorrow will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. Born May 24, 1915, in Chicago, she died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Elmhurst Extended Care Center, Elmhurst. Helen is survived by her son, Jerry (Carol) Damascus of St. Charles, and her grandchildren, Holly (Robert) Shive and Doug Damascus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; sisters, Eleanor Zartler and Phyllis Duchaj; and a brother, Joe Fritz. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
