IRENE SYLVESTER

Irene Sylvester, 90, passed on January 30, 2022, from a devastating stroke. Irene was born on June 13 (St. Anthony's Day) 1931, in Connecticut. Her parents, Mary and Eleuterio Ceccacci, moved to New Jersey, where Irene spent the next 50 years before relocating to Mt. Prospect, IL. Irene grew up in Garfield and attended St. Mary's High School in Rutherford. While working for the Erie Railroad she attended Fordham University at night and graduated with a bachelor's in business in 1955. She began her incredible Ford Motor Company adventure in May 1957. She journeyed from Teterboro to Englewood Cliffs to White Plains and eventually to Melrose Park, IL. Irene is survived by her daughter, Maryanne Hayes (John) Cimasko; her grandchildren, Jack and Jill Cimasko; her niece, Annette (Paul) Postma and nephew, Tony Ceccacci. She was preceded by her husband, Chet Sylvester; and her brother and sister-in-law, Luther and Sally Ceccacci. We would like to thank her "friends who are family" who have loved and taken care of her for so many years. Visitation Friday, February 4th, 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect. Visitation Saturday, February 5th, 9:00 A.M. until Funeral Service 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
