Alex Sylvester Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright Funeral Home - Randolph on Mar. 30, 2026.
Alex Diop Sylvester, of Brockton, affectionately known as Al to his friends and family, passed away unexpectedly, on March 22, 2026, in Brockton. Born on September 17, 1992, in Brooklyn, New York, Alex was a beacon of joy and kindness who left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched.

The dear son of Kurt and Noemie (Etienne) Sylvester of Brockton, Alex was a source of immense pride to his parents. His brother, Julian W. Sylvester of Brockton, will carry the memories of their brotherly love and friendship in his heart forever. Alex's family was the cornerstone of his life, and the love they shared was evident to all who knew them. His passing is also deeply felt by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who found in him a loving, kind, and friendly presence.

Alex was a proud graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 2010. His academic journey continued at Massasoit College in Brockton, where he pursued his interests and prepared for a future that would allow him to share his passions with the world. Alex's educational experiences shaped him into the man he would become-a man of compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

Professionally, Alex dedicated himself to the role of chef and dietician at Sunrise Healthcare in Newton, where he worked for three years. His culinary skills, combined with his knowledge of nutrition, allowed him to improve the lives of those he served. Alex's colleagues respected him for his expertise and loved him for his warm demeanor and ability to brighten the workplace with his smile.

Beyond his professional life, Alex was a man of diverse interests. His love for video games and computers was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with others and stay at the forefront of technology. A true Boston sports fan, he found joy in the thrill of the game, whether he was cheering on his favorite teams or playing basketball with friends. His passion for cooking and trying new foods, was evident in the delectable dishes he created, and his love for movies, anime, and music, provided a welcome escape and a source of endless conversation.

Alex's enthusiasm for sneakers was well-known among his circle; he was a sneaker fanatic who could often be found discussing the latest releases and trends. His collection was a testament to his eye for style and his appreciation for the artistry behind each design.

To know Alex was to know a person who embodied love, kindness, and friendliness, was a gift that made him truly special. Alex's legacy is one of love and laughter, and shared moments, and of a life that, though too short, was lived to the fullest.

As we bid farewell to Alex, we are reminded of the light he brought into this world. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will continue to inspire us to live with the same love and kindness that he so effortlessly displayed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Saturday, April 11th, from 8:00 – 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church, 518 No. Main St, Randolph. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM in the Church. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
