James Edgington Obituary

James Phillip Edgington of Lake Zurich A memorial service for Mr. James Phillip Edgington, 52, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Willow Creek Community Church, South Barrington, room 100, building B, lower level. The service will be immediately followed by a reception. Surrounded by family and friends, Jim died of cancer at home on Sunday, March 12, 2006. The son of James and Frances Edgington, Jim was born in Lancaster, Ohio on July 21, 1953. He moved to Mundelein, Ill., when he was a young boy and attended schools there. He was a member of the National Honor Society and he enjoyed playing high school sports. In 1978, he graduated from Southern Illinois University, where he majored in marketing. After graduation he began working in quality control at the Sara Lee Corporation. Jim met his dear wife, Jane in June, 1983. They were married Oct. 4, 1986. Shortly after he was married, Jim began working as a professional mover for Boyer Rosene, a job he held for more than 20 years. Jim was a life long vegetarian. He loved to take road trips off the beaten path with his family. He collected coins as a hobby and he attended Willow Creek Community Church, where he donated his time and mechanical talent to the Church's car ministry program. Jim enjoyed metal detecting and he was a collector of used materials he would find at job sites and in the community. He liked to give these materials a new home and purpose. Mr. Edgington is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his son, Jeff, 13, and daughter Jori, 10. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike Edgington and Danny Edgington of Lancaster, Ohio, and David Edgington of Mundelein; his sister, Fay Knowlton of Kenosha, Wis., four nieces; three nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Shawn Edgington and Hal Edgington.
