JOHN KIMBALL Obituary

John "Jack" Kimball Sr., 86, passed away Jan. 24, 2017, at home, with his family at his side. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Florence Reiter Kimball; three sons, John Jr. (Cindy), Jim (partner Mark) and Jay (LeAnn); three grandchildren, Zachery and Jacob Kimball and Megan Genrich (Jake); two great-granddaughters, Brynn and Livia; sister-in-law, Mary Reiter; sister, Violet Dust (Clete); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Margaret Kimball; brothers-in-law, Peter Reiter and Blain Joness (Jacqueline); daughter, Lorie; in-laws, Robert and Frances Reiter. He was a descendant of one of Elgin's founding families. He was a graduate of Elgin High School Class of 1948; a Korean War veteran, earning three Bronze Stars; and member of the American Legion. He retired from the Seigle Lumber Co. A memorial service will be in the spring.
